Scottsdale Arizona Real Estate Online

Scottsdale

Scottsdale, AZ has been called one of the most luxurious destinations in the nation by the Travel Channel and even “The Beverly Hills of the Desert” by the New York Times.  The architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright which is peppered throughout the city combines with the Native American influence to create a community which can boast the comforts of modern living while still being able to carry the slogan of “the West’s most western town.”

This diversity is reflected most evidently in the wide array of artistic offerings of the city.  Aside from the Scottsdale Museum of Modern Art, the Heard Museum, and Scottsdale’s Center for the Arts, the area’s number of art galleries is second in the nation only to New York.  Scottsdale is also home to more than 200 golf courses spanning from traditional layouts, to desert-style layouts.  This is also the home to the Phoenix Open golf tournament on the PGA tour and the Ping LPGA Tournament along with many professional golfers.

Thanks in part to its popularity as a tourism location, Scottsdale also has an active nightlife comprised of many restaurants, bars and nightclubs which combine to form an active southwestern-themed downtown area.  This part of town also includes Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall, one of the ten largest in America.

Scottsdale was originally inhabited by an ancient farming civilization called the Hohokam who built over 125 miles of irrigation caverns which survived and helped the first European settlers of the area build the city which has steadily grown over the past century into the thriving desert community it is today.  But don’t think Scottsdale has finished growing; the area’s population, size, and quality of life continue to rise as the Real Estate and tourism industries continue to strengthen in support of a community which continues to be recognized by such organizations as the US Conference of Mayors with titles such as “Most Livable City in the United States.”
